Mark Hardeman

Head of College

Mark began his career in Canada working as an elementary school teacher within a rural community.  After moving overseas, he worked within all school divisions with a focus on the social sciences and math instruction.  Mark’s passion for athletics has seen him serve as a coach working with students in multiple sports (basketball, volleyball, golf and swimming) throughout his career.  As a school leader, Mark has worked in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Dar es Salaam and Berlin before returning to China as the Interim Head of College at Dulwich College Puxi.  

Mark is a strong advocate for personalizing education and believes that all students need opportunities to explore and develop their personal passions for learning.  Throughout his career as an educator, Mark has worked with a variety of communities to maintain a rigorous academic program while promoting more opportunities for student autonomy within the classroom. 

Mark’s educational credentials include a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Lehigh University.  His doctoral research focused on the effectiveness of professional development programs in International Schools.  In addition, Mark holds a Masters of Educational Leadership from the University of Wollongong, Australia and Bachelor of Arts and Education degrees from the University of Windsor, Canada.
