Kambiz Taherabadi
Head of Art
I couldn't be prouder of Jack and Chris for their outstanding achievements at the TEC Guarding the Future exhibition. Their dedication and passion for art have always stood out; these awards are a testament to their hard work and creativity. Jack's journey from his first ambitious drawings to winning awards and earning a scholarship at SVA has been inspiring, and I'm confident he will continue to make waves in the art world. Chris has consistently pushed the boundaries of creativity, and his innovative AI piece, 'Bird on a Rod', is just a glimpse of his capabilities. Watching them grow as artists has been a privilege, and I am excited to see where their talents take them in the future.
The Power of Personalised Pathways
The success of Jack and Chris is a true testament to the personalised pathways offered at Dulwich Puxi. We believe every student has their own strengths, and we are dedicated to creating an environment that nurtures those strengths and allows students to explore who they are and what they can become by offering a holistic education, personalised learning, and opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the campus.
Jack’s journey is a perfect example. Reflecting on his experience, Jack shared
“I learned sketching and gouache for a long time, which gave me a strong foundation, and over time, I followed my interests to try new skills like sculpting and 3D animation. The personalised experiences at school helped me find my unique style and grow as an artist.”
At Dulwich Puxi, we encourage students to follow their passions, knowing that passion fuels personal success. Jack explains,
“Passion is the key to personal success because it motivates me to keep learning and improving. When I enjoy what I do, it feels less like work and more like a journey to create something meaningful.”
Jack also emphasised the influence of his parents and the support he received to explore his creativity:
“Art is a powerful way to express feelings and ideas that are hard to say with words. My parents always encouraged me to explore my creativity, and their support, combined with my curiosity to try new techniques, helped me achieve this success.”
Once again, join us in congratulating Jack and Chris on these outstanding achievements!
At Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, we are committed to fostering personalised pathways that help each student shine in their chosen fields!
