In addition, our school is honoured to have won the "Best Organization Award" and the "Excellent Teaching Award for Chinese Writing" from the "IBE International Bilingual Expert". These two awards recognise our school's academic rigour and outstanding mandarin programme. We will continue to uphold advanced teaching philosophies and provide students with high-quality educational resources and an environment for their holistic development.

The Global Youth Writing Competition is hosted by the Bilingual Educators Association, co-organised by more than 200 international schools and bilingual schools and reviewed by a team of 200 expert judges. Among more than 3,000 young writers, Albert L and Isaac L successfully stood out! They went through the complex process from determining the theme to conceiving the idea, to repeatedly revising the first draft, second draft, third draft and even fourth draft. Finally, they used words to express their profound thoughts on colour and connection themes. Albert L's "The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting" subtly demonstrates his keen understanding and unique insights into colour and culture. His essay won the award in the competition with its outstanding artistic charm and cultural depth. Isaac L's "Green Hometown" is deeply emotional and delicate in depicting the natural scenery and humanistic feelings of his hometown. Its strong sense of imagery made it stand out among many submissions.

Notably, their certificates are synchronised to the GLEIF Global Legal Entity Identifier global database and added to the LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) officially recognised authority certification logo. We look forward to hearing more news from them at the Global Award Ceremony held in Hong Kong in mid-August this year.

The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting

Albert L, Year 5 Said,

As the saying goes, "As thousands of ships pass by the side of a sinking boat, and as a thousand trees grow before a sick tree”, the diligence and dedication to a cause are priceless. The outcome is not important, but the attitude towards things is. Whether you have tried or not, whether you have put in effort or not, is the most important and difficult thing to achieve. When I learned that I was lucky enough to win the award, I felt like Meng Jiao, who wrote in his poem "I am riding on a horse in the spring breeze, and I have seen all the flowers in Chang'an in one day." The diligence, the love for things, the perseverance of never giving up, and the mindset of always improving are the criteria for winning the award. I would like to thank Ms. Lili Li and my family for their support and for helping me revise my essay. Without your help, "The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting" could not be so perfect.

Albert L's Mom Said,

When we heard the news that Albert won the Global Silver Award for his composition, our whole family was very happy and proud of him! Albert loves Chinese and reading Chinese books. This award is a recognition of his efforts. We hope he will continue to work hard and maintain his passion for exploring Chinese culture. As parents, we would like to thank the school, Dulwich College Puxi, for providing a good Chinese education curriculum and environment. Finally, we would like to express our special thanks to Ms. Li, Albert’s Chinese teacher, for her continuous encouragement and careful guidance to Albert! Albert, keep it up!

Green Homeland

Isaac L, Year 6 Said,

I feel very honoured to have won the Global second place in the Global Youth Writing competition. First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the judges and teachers for their hard work in reviewing and also thank the school for providing us with this stage to showcase our writing talents.

I was very happy to win the runner-up. During the competition, I revised and practised again and again, repeatedly weighing every word and sentence, pursuing the accuracy and tension of my writing. Sometimes my mind went blank, but I didn't give up, always believing that as long as I persisted, I would eventually reap the harvest.

Isaac L's Mom Said,

I am very happy that my child has won such a significant award in Chinese learning during the primary school stage. I am grateful to all the teachers in the Chinese language group at the primary school for their teaching output, and I am grateful to the natural and cultural experiences of my hometown for giving my child inspiration for writing. I would like to especially thank Ms. Lili for her guidance on writing, which has greatly helped to optimize the structure of the article and enhance the conception. It is said that Chinese learning is difficult, so we should cherish every competition and participate in and experience the process as learning and harvesting.

Judge of the  Writing Competition Said,

I'm delighted to hear the wonderful news that our students have won global awards! As someone who has had the privilege of serving as an expert judge for this competition for the past three years, I can attest to just how fierce the competition is. Winning the global runner-up prize is a remarkable achievement. Albert's work is truly innovative and imbued with a strong historical sensibility. His effortless command of classical Chinese poetry is truly impressive and showcases his exceptional mastery of the Chinese language. Isaac's work is characterised by its emotional nuance and moving descriptions. By leveraging the expressive power of colour, he has beautifully captured the urban child's yearning for their hometown and exploration of personal identity. As the ancient Chinese wisdom goes, "One cannot know the nature of pine and cypress without experiencing the bitter cold of winter, one cannot know the gentleman without facing difficulties." Both students have undoubtedly faced challenges and overcome them with their outstanding talents. Once again, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to those who have braved the winds and waves, and deserve a future that shines as brightly as the stars. Your achievements are a true inspiration! I look forward to seeing more participators showcase their talents on the global stage.
