Dulwich Puxi welcomes internationally acclaimed animator, Aaron Blaise

Dulwich Puxi welcomes globally acclaimed illustrator and animator, Aaron Blaise.

The intention of the Dulwich Diversity programme is to add delicious flavour to our already exciting curriculum offering. Through the acquisition of artists, experts and experiences, our pupils can engage directly with a wide range of industry specialists, carefully matched to their interests and developing aspirations.

This week, Aaron Blaise came to Dulwich College Puxi to run creative workshops with Years 3, 4, 7 and 8. Aaron worked at Walt Disney Feature Animation for 21 years helping to create some of the greatest animated films ever made: “The Rescuers Down Under”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin”, “The Lion King”, “Pocahontas”and “Mulan”. In 2003, Aaron was co-director of “Brother Bear” for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.

Our small class sizes at Dulwich Puxi mean that students really get hands-on experiences when they work together with visiting artists, professional musicians and industry leaders. This was an amazing opportunity for our pupils, many of whom dream of becoming animators and working in film, in the future.  We look forward to the day when a former Dulwich Puxi student becomes an Oscar winner.
