Career Insight Days typically involve students participating for a specific period, either part-time or full-time, alongside professionals in a chosen industry or organization. During this time, they engage in tasks, projects, or assignments that contribute to their learning and skill development. Students may receive supervision, mentoring, and evaluation from experienced professionals.
What do organizations have to do to take part?
Organizations interested in offering Career Insight Days will have to register through the link below, and then we will schedule meetings to discuss the different protocols and procedures necessary to provide both the organization and the students with a valuable experience.
What are the responsibilities of the organization?
Organizations hosting Career Insight Days are responsible for providing meaningful learning experiences aligned with the students' academic and career goals. We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce Mr. Duke Liu, who participated at our last year’s Career Fair and has now volunteered his time and expertise to collaborate with our counselling department to provide more opportunities for our students and become our liaison between the school and parents.
Q1: You are a Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi parent and Friend of Dulwich (FoD) member. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and your family?
I am an entrepreneur and investor with two girls from Toronto, Canada. I would love to bring some business ideas and a father's perspective to our FoD.
Q2: What motivated you to become a liaison for the university counselling department in the recruitment process for the Career Fair and Insight Days?
I see the eagerness from high school parents and they paid tons of money to outside agency for internship to build up students resume and get no actual experience at all.
Q3: What are the benefits of parent participation in helping students with Career Fairs and Insight Days?

Q4: In your opinion, how can parent involvement benefit our students in terms of their future career aspirations and university aspirations?
1. Partnership opportunity with school for long-term
2. Provide more resources about companies for tour and internship program
3. Closer dialogue and relationship with students
Mr. Liu has already supported Dulwich Puxi by introducing us to Ms. You Li did a workshop on Sustainability Technology and Mr. Jacky Wang who supported our students with a Fashion & Sustainability workshop. Both volunteers came to support our Drop-Down Day that had the theme of sustainability- 15 March 2024.
