Flute Specialist Ringo Chan: A Dulwich College Puxi Masterclass
Last week, the Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Music Department had the pleasure of hosting renowned flute specialist Ringo Chan over the course of three days. Hailing from Hong Kong, Ringo is a respected musician, teacher, and performer. We are grateful to Ringo for spending time at the College and sharing his wisdom and expertise with our students.
To kick-off his visit, Ringo delivered a comprehensive 3-hour Masterclass session, during which he offered valuable insights on playing techniques, sound production, ensemble skills, and practice tips. Ringo then collaborated closely with our Flute Group and Wind Band students, providing professional guidance on all aspects of performance. He also dedicated time to individual lessons, supporting those preparing for examinations or working towards IGCSE qualifications and performances.
To conclude his visit, Ringo delivered a lunchtime recital concert, performing alongside our talented teachers and students and showcasing the Flute Group's progress. The concert highlighted the exceptional performances of Angela (Year 11), Annabelle (Year 6), and Una (Year 5). We are immensely proud of our students for their dedication to their craft and their ability to engage with such a purposeful and applied learning experience.
