Happy Mid-Autumn Festival from Dulwich College Puxi

The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional festival in China and it has been an incredible celebration. 

Our Mandarin team prepared a variety of activities for our students. In the classroom, the students learned traditional Mid-Autumn poems, they also made different lanterns, learned traditional paper-cutting, discovered the significance of the festival in the Chinese culture elective course and conducted campus interviews. The highlight of this celebration was the Mid-Autumn Festival assembly this morning. This year, we invited the leaders of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission to be apart of the experience.

Our students incorporated fingertip dancing, and the arc drawn by the tender fingertips opened the curtain for the event. The song "Silver Moon Boat" made the audience feel like they were in a fairy tale world and were flying in the sky. The dynamic and energetic song and dance performance "Youth " brought the atmosphere to a climax. "You ask me how deeply I love you" when the familiar melody slowly sounded, "The Moon Represents My Heart" triggered interactions in the audience. The melodious folk song "Hong Yan" reminded people of their hometown. Our lovely FOD Choir also brought the song "Light" to all teachers and students. The event finally ended successfully with an inspiring speech from Mr. Ingram on the celebration of community during this festival. 

The pleasant breeze brings the moon, and the scent of Osmanthus fills the air as the full moon signals for a family reunion and all the best wishes and prosperity this time of year brings. Dulwich Puxi wishes all teachers and students, parents, and friends a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
