Lights, Community, Warmth: An Unforgettable Fair丨德威浦西冬日集市精彩瞬间
As the winter sun shone down, a gentle yet lively warmth spread across Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi. On Friday, 28 November, our community gathered once again for a cherished yearly tradition: the Dulwich Puxi Winter Fair.
Together under the bright winter sky, our students, parents and staff created a shared warmth of their own. With festive lights, familiar melodies and the anticipation of a joyful year-end celebration, our campus felt brighter and more welcoming than ever.
A Festive Celebration Filled with Warmth and Joy
From the inviting aromas of delicious food and the cheerful sounds of activities to music drifting through the air, our Winter Fair looked like the holiday season imagined in its brightest colours.
Wandering through the fair, families explored stall after stall, discovering festive treats such as mulled wine, hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies, cotton candy, candied hawthorns and many more festive snacks that filled the campus with irresistible scents.
The game area was especially lively. Model car races, shooting challenges and racing games drew enthusiastic participants of all ages. Surrounded by a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, families enjoyed energising moments and created wonderfully bright memories.
Our carefully arranged creative market area also attracted many visitors. Holiday decorations, handmade scented candles and beautiful jewellery displayed artistic styles from many cultures, showcasing the imagination and creativity of our international community. Students and parents were able to browse and pick out unique gifts for themselves and their loved ones.
Many of the stalls were organised and run by our own students, who transformed their creativity into action by presenting projects they had developed themselves and that they care deeply about. A long queue formed at the face-painting stall, which remained one of the most popular stops at the fair.
Our community partnership projects, Elevated Honey and Heart2Heart, also joined the celebration. Through interactive displays and meaningful engagement, our students extended the joy of the festival into acts of care.
Student bands from all Years performed songs that carried the holiday spirit throughout the fair. Our choir, wearing holiday hats, followed with a beautiful carolling performance. Then everyone came together for the highlight of the evening: lighting the Holiday Tree. As the lights came on, a warm glow spread across the campus, carrying our wishes for everyone to enjoy a holiday filled with memorable moments.
