Magic of Halloween: Bringing the Community Together
Happy Halloween! The magic of Halloween recently enchanted our Dulwich community, uniting children, parents, and teachers. During the DUCKS Fun Run and the Junior School Spooky Disco, we not only embraced the spirit of the season but also the bonds that make our community truly exceptional. We were delighted to have our DUCKS parents on campus, adding an extra layer of excitement to these unforgettable events. DUCKS Fun Run

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting our highly anticipated DUCKS Fun Run, Halloween edition. The event was a huge success, with a wide array of spooky characters such as ghosts, witches, Super Marios, princesses, cats, skeletons, and even gigantic inflatable pumpkins! To kick things off, we started with a spine-chilling Wake-Up and Shake-Up session led by the amazing Ms. Audrey.
The children were brimming with excitement as they embarked on a spook-tacular obstacle course designed by our talented PE department. They ran, jumped, balanced, and battled their way through inflatable obstacles, fully embracing the Halloween spirit. The event concluded with a ghostly cool down and stretch, followed by a delightful assortment of treats.
The sense of togetherness and joy was palpable throughout the event. Laughter filled the air, and smiles adorned the faces of all the children in DUCKS. Our dedicated teachers also joined in the fun, conquering the obstacle course with unwavering energy, and enthusiasm.
This year, we were thrilled to have our parents join in on the festivities. Their presence added an extra layer of excitement and made the event even more special. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our sponsor, Costco Minhang, for generously providing delicious cookies and refreshments for our parents. Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved in making this event an unforgettable experience.
After a morning of skeletons doing subtraction, mummies learning Mandarin and witches writing eerie stories in English, the Junior School came together for a disco like no other. The Year 3 students turned the theatre into a haunted house filled with orange pumpkins, black cats and spiderwebs (minus the spiders, thank goodness!) There were no tricks, just treats as they were then joined by the rest of the students to dance, play and have a ‘fang’tastic time together. Thank you to the Year 3 students and teachers for planning, creating and running an amazing community event for all of us in the Junior School.
