Mustangs in Motion: Chasing Goals, Breaking Records

This year, our Mustangs left it all on the field, in the pool, and on the court - proving that teamwork, resilience, and Mustang spirit is alive and thriving at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi.

From Junior School right through to Senior School, sports has united our students across the world. Whether competing at international tournaments or representing Dulwich Puxi in local leagues, our athletes have trained hard, supported one another, and grown stronger with every match, game and race.

Making History: FOBISIA Primary Games 2025

Returning to the FOBISIA Primary Games in Pattana, Thailand, our Year 5 and 6 team of 20 athletes built on last year’s debut with an incredible display of determination and Mustang spirit. Months of lunchtime, after-school, and weekend training led to personal bests and podium finishes across athletics, swimming, tee ball and football.

Our FOBISIA team found out they had achieved the following amazing results: 

• FOBISIA Champions (1st place) for the Tee Ball A Team
• FOBISIA Champions (1st place) in Athletics
• Silver medal (2nd place) for the Girls Football Team
• Bronze medal (3rd place) in Swimming
• Bronze medal (3rd place) for the Boys Football Team

The records kept coming literally. Four of our students broke all-time FOBISIA records, competing against 62 schools across Asia: 

• Brian Z - Long Jump (4.36m)
• Melissa S - Long Jump (3.96m)
• June Y - Javelin (18.87m)
• James Z - Discus (23.55m)

United in Competition: Worldwise Primary Games 2025

At the Worldwise Primary Games in Dehong Xi’an, our 47-strong squad represented Dulwich Puxi with pride, energy and grit. Over three packed days, our students collected medals and unforgettable memories.

• Year 4 Girls earned a Bronze Medal in Athletics
• Year 5 Girls were Shield Competition Winners in Football
• Year 6 Boys earned a Bronze Medal in the Cup Football Competition
• Year 5 Girls secured a Silver Medal in Athletics
• Year 6 Boys won a Gold Medal in Swimming - the first boys' gold and swimming medal in Dulwich Puxi history

Home Court Highlights: ACAMIS Basketball Tournament 2025

We were proud to host our first ACAMIS Basketball Tournament, welcoming schools from across the region. Our players not only held their own but earned top honours.

• Bella T-B was awarded Most Improved Player (Girls ACAMIS)
• Charlie S, Team Captain was named Most Valuable Player (Boys ACAMIS)
• Lily C was named Most Valuable Player (Girls ACAMIS)
• Boys placed 3rd overall - an impressive result in a competitive field and a strong foundation for future season

Making Waves: Shanghai Swimming League Championships 2025

The Shanghai Swimming League Championships are highly competitive and attract swimmers from across the city. 

Resilience and Growth: SISAC Football - Division 2

In the Shanghai International Schools Athletic Conference (SISAC), our Senior Boys Football Team competed in Division 2 and demonstrated resilience and growth throughout the season. They secured a 4th place finish, showcasing progress, sportsmanship, and a commitment to team play.

Swinging for Success:MIGA Golf CCA - U.S. Kids Golf Championship in Shanghai

The Dulwich Puxi Golf CCA has gone from strength to strength this year, with record participation and strong student development through the MIGA Golf Academy pathway. Students progressed from the Level 1 beginner programme to Level 2 training at Qizhong Garden Golf Club, focusing on skill development, course play, and tournament preparation.

• Arthur Z delivered a strong individual performance at the U.S. Kids Golf Championship in Shanghai, a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the growing talent within our programme.

Court Confidence: SportsED Dulwich Puxi Tennis Team

The Dulwich Puxi Team enjoyed a remarkable season, marked by growth, perseverance, and a deep commitment to both personal and team development. Players supported one another through challenges and celebrated each other’s achievements – building strong camaraderie both on and off the count. The team’s dedication to training, skill development, and sportsmanship was evident throughout the season and led to several individual recognitions.

• Demi G earned the title of Most Valuable Player through her outstanding performance in matches and her UTR tournament win. Demi competed in the Shanghai Qizhong Tennis UTR Tournament and emerged as the U10 Girls’ Champion. She has also been selected to train with the Shanghai City Team and currently holds the No.1 ranking among U10 Players.
• Annabelle R was named Most Improved Player for her exceptional progress and growing impact on the team.
• Eli W received the Dulwich Values Award for consistently demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity and encouragement of others.

Whether breaking records, trying a new sport, or cheering on teammates from the sidelines, our students have shown what it truly means to be a Mustang.

Here’s to a year of extraordinary effort, sporting spirit, and the kind of teamwork that lasts a lifetime. We can’t wait to see what 2025-26 brings!
