Student Booths Are Ready for Founder’s Day 2024
The 2024 Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Founder’s Day is ready for an exciting kick-off on Saturday, 11th of May. With the traditional English countryside theme of “The Secret Garden”, our campus is prepared to deliver a fabulous afternoon of performances, activities, delicacies, and the joy of community.

Founder's Day is a cherished and time-honoured tradition at Dulwich College International Schools. It's a significant occasion where our students, staff members, parents, and community to commemorate the music, arts, sports, and performances. Each Founder's Day is rooted in Edward Alleyn's four-century-old vision but with a distinctive Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi approach.

The annual Founder’s Day is one of the liveliest days on campus. As always, students are excited to contribute to one of their favourite festivals. This year, students of each year group create different booths alongside the different activities. They’ve come up with ideas and plans to run their booths as a group for their service learning projects and to raise money for different community partnerships.

On Founder's Day, there will be a range of food and beverage offerings including food trucks and a bustling pub garden. This year we are introducing a delightful new community hospitality option – an afternoon tea, crafted in partnership with the esteemed AMANYANGYUN where our community can watch the performances of our talented students.

Primary School will offer a range of fun activities, such as the Early Years Water Play, to keep our youngest learners cool, and other students will be selling homemade candles and key rings. Year 3 will be playing a game called 'To Ping or Not To Pong', and Year 6 will have the last laugh with their 'Splat the Teacher' activity, ensuring all students and staff have a great day.

Year 4 will be taking the lead on Making a Difference Together as a community. They will sell products from Hearts and Hands that are made by and serve the deaf and disabled community in Kunming, China. The money raised will go to giving a better future for those who are disadvantaged, demonstrating their leadership and passion for making a positive difference in the world.

The Year 8 booth is a donation from our founding student at the college. He will bring his art from his families company C’RYSTAL, a premium lifestyle brand that marries art with everyday functionality. This booth allows students of all ages to immerse into a world of creativity and imagination, where they can create graffiti of their love for the college. They will also sell insulated bottles best known for their unique dynamic curved surfaces, a pioneering achievement in manufacturing to support charities and people in underdeveloping regions. Bottles and drawing activities allow arts to combine with reality and add colourful moments to people’s lives.
In the Year 9 booth, you can test your aim and win delicious lollipops. It's as simple as landing a hoop onto a lollipop on the board. But that's not all - if you're skilled enough to land three hoops on three lollipops, you'll have a chance to step up your game and win the grand prize! Will you play it safe and keep your three lollipops, or will you go for the glory of winning both a prize and the lollipops? The choice is yours in this game of skill and strategy that promises endless fun for all ages.
In the Year 10 booth, icy-cold, flavorful slushies are sure to quench the thirst of visitors on hot summer days. Customers can choose from a variety of classic and innovative slushy flavors which are served in sturdy, disposable bowls, often with a spoon for easy sipping and enjoyment. With its vibrant colours, enticing aromas, and irresistible icy concoctions, the slushy booth will provide a refreshing refuge from the summer heat.

More student booths are for you to discover. The event promises to be an exciting and vibrant experience for all ages. We look forward to seeing parents and students there on Saturday, 11 May 2024 at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Founder's Day!
