The Festival Symphony: Winter Concert 2024
Christmas came early to Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi with our Winter Fair, Winter Concert and Tree Lighting, a festive celebration of music, talent, and community.
Our annual Winter Concert featured an outstanding programme of heartwarming performances that showcased the talent and dedication of our students.
From our impressive orchestra to the melodic harmonies of our choirs and ensembles, our students performed a series of traditional carols and festive classics filled the theatre, setting the perfect tone for the holiday season.
Dedication Behind the Scenes
The day began with a buzz of excitement as students arrived early for rehearsals. The Upper Primary Choir, Forte Choir, Wind Band, and Orchestra worked tirelessly throughout the morning, fine-tuning every note and ensuring their performances would shine.
Our Music Programme
Our exceptional music programme took center stage at our Winter Concert, showcasing the incredible talents of our students. Beginning in DUCKS and continuing through Senior School, the programme includes the unique Primary Instrumental Programme (PIP), where students from Year 1 to Year 6 learn to play orchestral instruments such as the violin, viola, cello, clarinet, or percussion. Weekly lessons with specialist instrumental teachers and opportunities to perform at assemblies and community events nurture creativity, skill, and a love for music, culminating in spectacular performances like this year’s Winter Concert.
Shining Bright on Stage
When the curtains were drawn, the theatre came alive with the sounds of Christmas. Each performance reflected the hours of preparation and passion our students put into their craft, creating an unforgettable celebration of their talent, hard work, and festive spirit.
