The Festive Season Arrives at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi
The Festive Season has well-and-truly arrived at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi. The past few weeks have witnessed the halls ringing with Christmas carols, and our students stretching their musical muscles as they traverse the town bringing cheer to audiences of tree lighting ceremonies and Christmas Fairs. These special opportunities represent an important element of the holistic education experience we create for student at the College, as well as a simply wonderful time for all in our community.
Our Junior Choir kicked off the festivities with their Tree Lighting performance at the Hilton Songjiang Guangfulin on Thursday, 24 November.
On Wednesday, 30 November we hosted our very own Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on campus, along with our Christmas Fair. The Fair was attended by a range of social enterprises, with the community coming out in force to Make a Difference. A stand-out of the afternoon was the moving speech by Head Student, Lily, as well as our student-led booths selling Christmas decorations from Hearts and Hands, and honey from Elevated Honey Co.
On Thursday, 1 December our DUCKS Choir continued their tradition of supporting the Christmas Tree Lighting event for our neighbours at the Amanyangyun Resort.
On Friday, 2 December the College Theatre brought together our Senior and Junior Choirs and Orchestras to spread Christmas cheer to the community.
Christmas is a magical time at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, and we are just getting started. Over the next few weeks we will be entertained with our Year 2 Christmas production of Baarmy Bethlehem (an “Upbleat Nativity”), followed by our Nursery Christmas performance, and our traditional Christmas Assembly and visit from Santa on the last day of Term 1. Who knows, we might receive a special surprise performance with our annual Staff Pantomime.
We hope you are having a wonderful festive season, and are keeping safe and warm!
