We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

From the Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi community, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Many special memories were created this festive season. Let's take a look back at Christmas 2021 at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi.

This year, the Nursery students held their first ever Nursery Christmas Production in the College theatre; a huge achievement for our DUCKS students to perform a range of wonderful Christmas carols before their parents on the big stage.

Our DUCKS choir then performed at the Amanyangyun Resort Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Year 2 followed with their annual Christmas Production. This year they delighted the audience with their hilarious performance of ‘Lights, Camel, Action! It’s Strictly the Nativity’. The students impressed the crowd with their jam-packed cast of nativity celebrities in a dazzling dance show.

Christmas is a key performance opportunity in the academic calendar for our Junior and Senior Orchestras, Junior Choir and Forte Choir. They first delighted the community at the annual Winter Concert, before taking their talents to the public in their performance at Shanghai Disneyland on the E-Tron Stage. Providing opportunities for our students to perform publicly is a key aim of the performing arts team, allowing students to build their confidence and demonstrate their talent to a wider audience. The students performed brilliantly, delighting the guests.

To wrap up the Christmas festivities, Santa once again visited the College on the last day of term, delivering presents and reading stories to our DUCKS students in the outdoor yurt in Primary school. The children’s eyes shined with delight as Santa greeted them and read some of his favourite Christmas books, before delivering his presents and taking to the skies again in his sleigh.

Of course, as is now a Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Christmas tradition, all students in the school were surprised with the annual staff pantomime in the Christmas Assembly. Our talented teachers took to the stage, directed by Year 12 IB Drama students Jemima and Curtis, in the performance of Jack and the Bean Tin.

Christmas is a such a special time of the year for the community, and as we now take a well-earn break to recharge for 2022, we extended our warmest wishes to you all. We wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in Term 2, as we continue to take the College from strength-to-strength together with you.
