Dulwich Puxi: Parents Participation

Let’s get involved! Whether your child is just starting in DUCKS or entering the Senior school, there are many good reasons for parents to volunteer at school. It's a great way for parents to show they are interested in their child’s education. Many children like to see their parents at school or at school events. But follow your child’s cues to find out how much interaction works for both of you. If your child seems uncomfortable with your presence at school or with your involvement in an extracurricular activity, consider taking a more behind-the-scenes approach. Make it clear that you aren't there to spy — you're just trying to help out the College community. Parents can get involved by:

  1. Gardening
  2. Cooking with students
  3. Supporting student reading groups
  4. Supporting sports teams or music ensembles
  5. Supporting field trips
  6. Helping in the library
  7. Giving a talk for career day
  8. Attending school events

Email your class teacher to find volunteer opportunities that fit your schedule because even giving a few hours during the school year can make a very strong impression on your child.
