Senior School students attend 2018 Environment Conference

The 2nd Annual Dulwich Environment Conference was recently held at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi. This was a two-day forum which empowered senior students from across the Dulwich international network to serve on the front lines of sustainability as lead decision-makers, project designers and culture changers for our schools.

The conference vision for attending students was to develop instructional goals to take back to their own campuses and implement these in order to create greener, healthier classrooms and spaces.

The conference welcomed five sustainability leaders who guided and mentored students through practical sessions, including analysing live business data to develop fiscally responsible, sustainable changes.

Students participated in practical solar panelling and environmental science workshops where they learnt about solar energy and aquaponics. Students then connected these energy sources to the campus and measured real-time energy usage, which gave them the ability to make informed business decisions.

Dulwich College Puxi students were among the youngest of the student leaders in attendance and were extremely proactive in their ideas exchange and presentations to the wider group. We are really looking forward to implementing their creative sustainable ideas here at our campus.

Dulwich College International actively promotes the collaboration of students across the Dulwich network of schools and colleges, and provides opportunities for senior school students to work with environmental scientists and sustainability leaders of industries, to develop their own understanding of sustainability in business.
