The Sound of Music at Dulwich College Minhang

Music makes a powerful contribution to the education and development of all children. Students who participate in musical activities enjoy higher levels of engagement, improved language and communication skills. Music has the power to change the way students feel, think and act.

At Dulwich Minhang, every student will receive at least one music lesson per week.  These curriculum music lessons are designed to build composing and performing skills, imagination and intellectual curiosity. In addition, our Primary Instrumental Programme ensures that every Junior School student will receive group instrumental lessons on a weekly basis where they will experience the joy of performing in an ensemble. All of our students will have access to our state-of-the-art music rooms and every child will perform on stage in our 500-seat theatre. Our extra-curricular musical programmes further include choir and junior ensemble. Students will have the opportunity to have one-to-one instrumental lessons on a range of instruments through visiting peripatetic teachers. They will be able to develop their performing skills on an individual basis and will be encouraged to participate in ABRSM examinations.

I look forward to filling our College halls with the sound of music!
