EAL & MFL teacher, Senior School Pastoral Leader, Head of Song House
Kayleigh began her teaching career in the UK, as a French and Spanish teacher in Telford where she completed the Teach First Leadership Development Program. This is an Educational Charity dedicated to addressing educational disadvantage in the UK. It focused on educating all children to the highest standard regardless of their socio-economic background. After completing the two-year program in 2014 she moved to Doha, Qatar to begin her international teaching experience. In the Middle East, Kayleigh worked as a Head of Year and gained an invaluable insight into life in a different culture. Having now taught at DCSM for one year, Kayleigh has thoroughly enjoyed immersing herself into life in China and takes regular Mandarin lessons in order to improve her communication skills. She enjoys working with the students to help them develop socially and emotionally, as well as pushing them academically to become the best they can be. This year, she will focus heavily on embedding Safeguarding and Wellbeing into the curriculum, ensuring that our students learn in a safe environment and have a deeper understanding of the world around us.
