Student agency is placed at the core of our UCC approach, with student voice embedded throughout the entire university application journey. Our experienced counsellors take the time to understand every student’s potential, passions, and ambitions, providing personalised guidance that helps them achieve their ‘reach’ goals. 

We follow a structured, milestone-based approach, engaging students from an early stage to ensure they complete key application tasks at each grade level. Alongside this, career-driven and inspirational guidance prepares students not only for university, but for life beyond graduation. 

 

Our support extends beyond the classroom through a ‘Family + Teachers + Alumni + External Resources’ model, combining early and sustained parental engagement, close collaboration with teachers, and active alumni involvement. This comprehensive network guides students from discovering their passions to mapping out post-secondary pathways, ensuring meaningful outcomes and long-term success.

At Dulwich College International, our students benefit from the strength of a global network of schools, gaining access to exceptional resources that enhance the university application experience and reinforce our strong reputation with universities worldwide. 

Our University and Career Counselling teams are composed of highly qualified and experienced professionals, bringing diverse expertise and collaborating closely to support every student. Approximately 96% of our counsellors hold advanced qualifications—including master’s degrees, counselling certifications, or a PGCE—and many serve in leadership roles within key professional organisations such as International ACAC, CIS, and China ICAC. With deep secondary school counselling experience combined with university admissions expertise—84% have 5–15 years of experience, including roles in university admissions—our counsellors provide strategic, insider guidance to ensure students are exceptionally well supported throughout their higher education journey. 

Collaboration and knowledge-sharing are also central to our UCC provision. Across the network, counsellors exchange case studies, track university trends, and share insights to provide tailored support for sister schools. Each year, teams come together at the annual conference, engaging in in-depth discussions and connecting with universities worldwide to stay ahead of the latest developments and refine strategic approaches.

To elevate our guidance to the next level, we have established an International University Advisory Board, supported by three Regional UCC Directors across North America, the UK and Europe, and Asia and Australia. Their work will empower our 'global university pathways' strategy across three key dimensions: strategy, people and quality, driving continuous evolution of university and career guidance systems. This dynamic leadership team ensures that every student receives consistent, top-tier support as they navigate their path to higher education, opening doors to opportunities at leading universities around the world.
