- Public Speaking at Dulwich Puxi
Public Speaking is an important element within a Dulwich education.
Instilling skills of critical reasoning, argumentation, refutation, and organization through training and participation starts in our primary classrooms and continues through senior school years. Learning to manage and control our physical presence through voice projection, facial expressions, and body language are also important aspects of public speaking and opportunities to practice these skills happen every day in our classroom learning environments.
At Dulwich we believe students should graduate worldwise and public speaking and presentation skills last a life time – so encouraging the development of these skills as part of our daily routines will ensure that our students are at ease when presenting their thoughts and ideas - whether they are addressing colleagues in a boardroom, or audiences from a stage.
Next week, we have Junior School students representing the College at MUN: Model United Nations. Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. This is an excellent opportunity for public speaking, debating, developing international mindedness and global view. Good Luck, Dulwich College Puxi students!
