Madeline Barton
Head of Modern Foreign Languages
Madeline Barton spent time studying in Caen, France and Santiago de Compostela, Spain, during her Modern Languages degree. She began her teaching career in Lincolnshire, teaching French and Spanish in a grammar school for a number of years, before moving to Hertfordshire where she led the French department in an independent prep school. A lifelong learner, Madeline visited Shanghai previously as part of a Mandarin study tour with the University College of London, and it was this experience that drew her back to Shanghai. In her spare time, Madeline enjoys reading, keeping fit and dressmaking.
