Beyond the Classroom: A Trip to the Rolex Masters

Recently, we had the remarkable opportunity to provide our students with an experience of a lifetime that perfectly encapsulates our commitment to holistic learning.

The event in question was none other than the prestigious Rolex Masters, an internationally renowned sporting spectacle that unfolded just a stone's throw away from our campus. With bated breath and eager anticipation, we seized the chance to immerse as many of our students as possible in this elite sporting event.

The allure of such events is nothing short of inspirational. Watching sports heroes on television is one thing, but witnessing their dedication, determination, and resilience in person is a transformative experience. The commitment these athletes exhibit, striving for excellence and continuously seeking to better themselves, mirrors the values we hold dear at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi.

We had the privilege of taking 250 of our students to this remarkable event, a lesson in itself that transcends the confines of a classroom. Our students enjoyed exclusive access to tour the stadium and had the privilege of meeting the Tournament Director, Mr. Luevano, as well as conducting an interview with the Australian Doubles Champion, Mr. Peers. These invaluable moments left a profound impact, sparking new interests, kindling latent talents, and leaving an indelible mark for years to come.

In the midst of the Rolex Masters, who knows what seeds of inspiration were sown? Perhaps a future tennis champion was born, or a budding athlete found a new calling. At the same time, some may have been left in sheer awe of the dedication and passion that radiated from the athletes.
