Dulwich College Puxi Receives Exceptional Early Offers for 2023
Over the recent winter holiday break, the inaugural Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi IB Diploma Programme cohort continued to receive exceptional early round offers from their target universities around the world. As our first graduating cohort, it was exciting to see this year’s Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Year 13 students featured in the wrap up of nearly 500 incredible early offers received by students across the Dulwich College International family of schools.
Across Dulwich College International and EiM's family of schools, we expect that the Class of 2023 will send over 3,000 university applications.
Our students have already received an impressive range of early offers, including from their top choice universities. Most students have received multiple offers, and some have received offers from all the universities they applied for. These include universities in the top 1% worldwide, and several Russell Group universities in the UK.
Receiving multiple offers is important for our students, as it provides them with choice. They can now take the time to further research and refine their choices as they move closer towards finalising their decisions. In addition to their early offers, our students are also receiving scholarships. This is symbolic of the strong value that our students represent to universities.

Our Year 13 students are graduating Worldwise. They each have a unique story and an authentic personal voice. They articulate this in a confident and compelling way that opens doors and creates opportunities. In addition to the early round offers received across the cohort, earlier this week we were delighted to learn that one of our students has been offered a scholarship for a leading university in the UK. Our students’ world view is developed through their experience of our purposeful and personalised curriculum that is underpinned by our College values.

I am incredibly proud of the commitment of our students in their quest for university. Every decision made has been an informed decision, showing maturity around the process. The consequence of this is that our students are not only receiving offers on the applications from outstanding universities, and of their first-choice university, but they will be happy in the next stage of their educational journey. Well done, Year 13!

It always gives me a great sense of joy and satisfaction when students start to receive offers from the different universities. This is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our students, and to the support and guidance of all the teachers and staff. This success is a result of our students’ commitment to their education, as well as their willingness to explore their interests and passions, participate in extracurricular activities, and make a positive impact in our community. I am thrilled to have been a part our first graduating cohort as they embark their journey to becoming Worldwise global citizens. We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing our students receiving more offers in the near future.
We spoke with several of our students to gauge their reactions at this point in the admissions cycle:

Now that I have started receiving these offers, my dream is becoming a reality. I’m proud to be accepted by these universities, and these conditional offers have provided me with further motivation to continue my efforts, do my best in the IB and finally get admitted to a great university.

I am pleased to have received offers from all the universities that I have applied to. Now comes the hard part of making my final selections and working hard to get my exam results. It was useful to travel to the UK and visit the universities during the winter break. I valued the opportunity to speak to students and professors, and I enjoyed experiencing the atmosphere of the different campuses. This has already been instrumental in helping inform my decision-making process.

During the university application process I felt a little bit of stress due to the combined workload of deadlines and IB course works. But overall, the application process for me was smooth, and it was very convenient to apply on UCAS. I am thrilled to have received offers from both HKUST and University of Bath. I now have choices, and some challenging decisions to make.
What is the Early Round?
————
Universities around the world have their own deadlines and timelines regarding applications and decisions, but many universities offer both an early round and a regular round for applications. For many universities, decisions for early round applications are released in December and January. Regular round decisions are typically released by March or April.
For students still in their final year of the IB Diploma, all offers from the UK are conditional, meaning that students need to earn IB scores specified by their offer conditions in order to confirm their offer and make it unconditional. While they are working hard to maintain their offers, we would like to congratulate the Class of 2023 on their offers so far. Our students have worked extremely hard to get where they are, and regardless of where they are in the process, we are proud of them and wish them all the best as they continue to work through the rest of their IB Diploma Programme. We look forward to sharing more news as 2023 progresses and more offers are received.
