Learning with a Twist! A Junior School Production in Record Time
For the past few weeks, visitors to the College have heard the songs of Oliver Twist ringing through the halls. Indeed, as many parents would attest, celebrations of “Food, Glorious Food!” and the Artful Dodger telling Oliver to “Consider Yourself” at home, have become part of the regular refrain both in school and at home, as our Junior School students have worked hard to put on the Junior School production of ‘Twist!’. This week was showtime, and what a show it was.
In just three short weeks our students and staff pulled of a spectacular series of performances, warmly celebrated by the parents who were able to attend in person or via livestream. It truly was a Junior School production in record time!
“Providing a world-class holistic education entails providing students with as many opportunities and experiences as possible in order to enrich their lives. At Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, we have a strong focus on breadth and depth within the curriculum, and we complement this with high quality enrichment. This is the best way to expose and introduce children during their development to a broad range of potential interests, with the aim of supporting them to find out what they are really passionate about. This is part of the Dulwich College education, and is offered to every learner.
Over the last few weeks, we have been busy with preparations for the Junior school production of Twist! – a version of the musical Oliver. It has been joyous to hear the sound of rehearsals taking place in the theatre as the children have been putting the finishing touches to their interpretation. And of course – the final result was absolutely spectacular! "
This Junior School production would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of many teachers, support staff, parents and, of course, the students themselves. Congratulations to everyone involved in pulling off a Junior School production in record time!
