Dulwich Puxi Achieve Outstanding English Results

Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

This week we received the results for all of Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5’s English Speaking Board (ESB) examinations - and we are delighted to report that their results are outstanding.

100% of Year 3-5 passed the exam.
71% of our Primary School received Distinctions – the highest possible score.
27% of our children achieved Merit + (the second top score band)

ESB examinations are administered both in the United Kingdom and internationally. Along with the Dulwich English curriculum, the standards and requirements of these examinations are incredibly high. International students are judged with the same criteria as local children taking the examination in England. The exams are designed to showcase a child’s ability to speak and present with an extremely high standard and command of the English language. Throughout the process, students are encouraged to speak with passion, knowledge, fluency and conviction across a range of fascinating subjects.

Our primary students were outstanding throughout the process. They demonstrated a clear ability to collaborate, praise, probe and question. What has become evident through this examination process is that each child’s hard work and perseverance, alongside the expert teaching, guidance and dedication of our teachers, enabled them to gain top results.

Every day at Dulwich College Puxi, we empower our students to have confidence in the words they speak. We encourage them to believe in their message, and to voice out their opinions and ideas. By doing this our students learn how their words and their voice is their most powerful tool which can enable them to make a difference, grow relationships, and be kind and respectful.
