Amelia King

Director of Educational Technology and Innovation

Amelia is the Director of Educational Technology and Innovation at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi, where she supports staff and students to improve their digital and technological capabilities both in the classroom and in wider school life. She is passionate about developing creativity and a Maker Mindset in both adults and children, and believes in the importance of ‘playing’ with technology in order to develop confidence further. Her areas of interest include VR and AI to augment education, and how STEAM skills can be developed across all areas of the curriculum.

Prior to joining Dulwich, Amelia had a dual role working for a series of independent schools with 23 campuses across the UK. As Assistant National Curriculum Lead for History, Amelia developed blended learning courses for all year groups, and as Digital Mastery Lead she worked alongside the National Senior Leadership Team to improve digital teaching and learning across the country. In 2020 she achieved a National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership, leading a multi-campus project using educational technology to improve outcomes and student engagement, and she is currently studying towards an MSc in Smart EdTech, Innovation, and Co-Creativity.

Outside of school, Amelia enjoys bouldering, tabletop roleplaying and board games, and working alongside her literary agent to write Young Adult and Middle Grade fiction.
